Beyoncé is the ‘top choice’ to voice Nala in a live-action reboot of Lion King.

Director Jon Favreau is keen to get the US pop superstar on board, according to Variety.

Beyoncé has yet to make a decision as she is pregnant with twins but sources say the studio and director will do “whatever it takes” to work with her schedule.

Other names on board for the Disney reboot include Donald Glover who will voice Simba and James Earl Jones who will reprise his role as Simba’s father, Mufasa.

Disney’s Lion King was released in 1994 and went on to become one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time, raking in $968.5 million worldwide.

It earned Sir Elton John the Original Song Oscar for Can You Feel the Love Tonight and Circle of Life.

The film won't mark Beyoncé's first foray into acting. The Formation singer voiced a character in animated film Epic back in 2013 and has enjoyed roles in Obsessed, Dreamgirls and Austin Powers in Goldmember.
