Ticket sales for the 2027 London revival of Sunday in the Park with George, starring Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande, have been delayed until autumn 2026.
It was announced in January that the Wicked co-stars would reunite on stage at the Barbican Centre next summer for a new production of Stephen Sondheim's acclaimed musical.
Fans hoping to secure tickets will reportedly have to wait a few more months, with sales now expected to begin in autumn 2026 instead of May, which has passed, while the production remains on course for summer 2027.
According to Deadline, producers opted to postpone ticket sales to allow Grande to complete her Eternal Sunshine tour, which concludes on September 1 following a run of shows at London’s O2 Arena.
Ariana Grande is set to make her West End debut next summer alongside Wicked co-star Jonathan BaileyPA WireThe Standard has contacted Empire Street Productions and The Barbican for comment.
It comes as Grande, 33, and Bailey, 38, starred as Glinda and Fiyero respectively in the recent film adaptation of Wicked and its sequel, Wicked: For Good.
The role saw Grande earn an Oscar nomination, and the films were a global success.
The duo first teased the announcement on Instagram earlier this year, having shared a photo sat in front of the Georges Seurat painting which the production is based on – A Sunday Afternoon On The Island Of La Grande Jatte.
The caption referenced one of the musical’s most famous songs, and read: “All it has to be is good.”
The original musical, created by Sondheim and James Lapine, debuted on Broadway in 1984.
It follows the story of a fictionalised Seurat as he tries to complete the portrait, showing challenges in understanding life and art, exploring his relationship with his lover and muse, Dot.
The upcoming production will be directed by Olivier-award winner Marianne Elliott and produced by Empire Street Productions.
Bailey has previously appeared in the West End, having starred in Richard II in 2025, and in a gender-swapped revival of Company, which won him an Olivier Award in 2019.
