Abigail: I'm a WAG wannabe

The disgraced girlfriend of England star Peter Crouch always dreamed of becoming a footballer's wife.

Abigail Clancy, who is set to star in Living TV's Britain's Next Top Model, told producers this year that she hoped to "marry a footballer, get pregnant and then shop and have fun for the rest of her life". Despite having a boyfriend at the time, she described Crouch as her "dream man".

Betraying her aspirations as a WAG in the making, the producers' notes say: "She would love to afford designer wear but can't on her waitress wage. If Abigail was flushed with cash, she would quite happily flit it away on Balenciaga bags, Roberto Cavalli dresses and diamonds."

The 20-year-old gave the interview to TV bosses in January as she auditioned for a role in the model search show. She is said to have met Crouch at around the same time, when he came into the Liverpool bar where she worked.

But she told the show's producers she had been with her builder boyfriend Ben Lunt "for two years" - and thought he was "the one".

She even claimed to have suspicions he may have cheated on her - but insisted she had "never cheated on him".

Clancy came to public attention as Crouch's girlfriend when she watched him score a hat-trick during a pre-World Cup clash with Jamaica.

Days later she jetted out to Germany with the rest of the England wives and girlfriends.

But she was sent home in disgrace barely halfway through the tournament after allegations emerged of her cocaine-taking past.

In further allegations last weekend, a Sunday tabloid claimed she had cheated on Crouch with her ex-lover Ben, 23 - and had previously been secretly dating Crouch behind his back.

The Living TV producers' notes on Clancy describe her as "fun, giggly and doesn't take anything too seriously" adding: "In five years she sees herself as the next Lisa Snowden, modelling Victoria's Secrets underwear after a successful recording career. If that all doesn't happen Abigail will marry a footballer, get married, pregnant and then shop and have fun for the rest of her life."

Clancy described Victoria Beckham as her top style icon and names WAGs' favourite champagne and Bacardi and diet Coke as her favourite drinks.

A spokeswoman for Britain's Next Top Model said that, despite recent allegations of a previous cocaine habit, Clancy would appear on the series from 24 July. She is expected to attend a party to launch the show tonight.
