Despite its selection of contemporary apparel and home décor, fans of the French multi-channel retailer might be surprised to know that it was actually founded way back in 1837.

The home of effortlessly stylish streetwear and je ne sais quoi homeware was created in Roubaix, France, a region famous for producing wool. Though eventually shortened, the retailer’s original name was Filatures de La Redoute, which translates to the Spinners of La Redoute – the street where the company’s factory was located.

In the centuries since its inception, La Redoute has made a name for itself as the go-to destination for distinctly French style across the board, and the retailer has decided to make those coveted pieces even more accessible this Black Friday.
