The cult American sportswear label New Balance and Carhartt WIP, the offshoot of Carhartt that was founded in London in 1997, have collaborated on a capsule collection that includes a new version of the classic 990v1 sneaker, as well as a series of clothing and accessories - and we’re here to let you know how you can cop it before it’s gone.

Inspired by neighbourhood gyms across America, the fabrics - like washed-out canvas and heavyweight jersey - give the collection a worn-in feel with comfy pieces you’ll never want to take off. Designed in a muted colour palette of dark blues and greys, the T-shirts, sweaters, and track pants, as well as a reversible beanie, towel, and a water bottle, have a vintage collegiate aesthetic, with 80s logos and typography.

And what better era to reference seeing as the 990v1 was first launched in 1982? With a strapline that once read ‘Worn by supermodels in London and dads in Ohio’, it’s no wonder this New Balance silhouette lives up to the cool-dad rep. Originally a running shoe, it has since become a celebrity favourite, adopted by the likes of Nick Jonas and Kanye West.
