Harry Styles is about to start a 12-night residency at London’s Wembley Stadium as part of his Together, Together world tour. The singer, along with special guest Shania Twain, is set to break the record for the most performances by any artist in a single year at the venue, surpassing Coldplay’s previous record of 10 nights.

Whether it’s polka dots for Olivia Dean or Era’s inspired looks for Taylor Swift, method dressing has become a fan tradition at gigs. If you’re among the lucky fans who battled through the Ticketmaster waiting room – or secured tickets through resellers – the only thing left to do is decide what to wear. As a Harry Styles fan of over a decade, let me be your guide.

Unlike the Love On Tour run, which was defined by sequin jumpsuits, funky prints and feather boas, Together, Together has a less clearly defined aesthetic. While fans once arrived bedecked in sparkles, cowboy hats and colourful boas, both his music and wardrobe have now matured. Speaking on Capital FM, Harry’s only dress code advice to fans was to wear their “dancing shoes”.

The latest album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, is inspired by the Berlin party scene, and his fashion has transformed from flamboyant to normcore. With continued guidance by close friend and Valentino creative director Alessandro Michele, his signature sheer pieces, sequin boots and pearls have been replaced by sharp tailoring, colour blocking and ballet flats,

This new look was crafted during his two-and-a-half-year hiatus, where he began dating Zoe Kravitz, spent time in Rome and casually ran the Tokyo and Berlin marathons. Appearing on stage at the Grammys in January in a deep V-neck Dior blazer, jeans and mint-green flats, he followed up at the Brits in February wearing a slouchy pinstripe Chanel suit and yet another pair of dainty pumps.

His street style is equally covetable: think space age sunglasses, tiny sporty shorts and yellow Prada trainers, or relaxed jeans, black ballerinas and vintage knitwear. Baseball caps, graphic tees – often from his own lifestyle brand, Pleasing – and raffia totes also feature heavily. Styles has always had a penchant toward preppy dressing, but the latest evolution puts an office-siren spin on workwear. In the Dance No More music video, he sports a white shirt, a patterned yellow tie and high-cut athletic shorts.

Styles, along with his stylist Harry Lambert, made a compelling case for colour blocking during the first leg of the Together, Together tour in Amsterdam. Red jackets, cobalt blue jeans and pink shirts appeared alongside yellow blazers over red shirts, as well as voluminous zoot suit-style baby-blue or purple trousers. There’s a distinct eighties flair to his new styling, reminiscent of Talking Heads’s Stop Making Sense 1983 concert film.

If anything, Styles’ new tour wardrobe and off-duty style feel even more attainable. His pieces may come from the likes of Dior, Chanel, Valentino, but the high street is embracing colour blocking, preppy styling and tailoring just as effectively. From disco looks that reference his new record to western touches that nod to Twain, here’s your ultimate guide on what to wear to Harry Styles’ Wembley Stadium gigs.
