As car companies aim to outdo each other on range, power and gadgets, the choice of EVs can be overwhelming. We’ve wrapped up the best of those launching this year

Once the choice of EVs was severely limited, as was their range and, let’s be honest, desirability. Now however, as sales figures begin to rise (reaching 10 million globally at the end of 2020) and battery capability expands, there’s been an explosion of options as car companies compete to be the petrol-free market leaders.

The problem for consumers is the choice then becomes somewhat overwhelming. Should one go with electric-only companies such as Tesla and newcomers Lucid, or opt for tried and tested family motor brands like Skoda, Volkswagen or BMW? How can you make sure you’re getting what you need in terms of range, speed and wizzy features? And for the right price?

Check out our gallery to find our reviews of the best electric cars from the dozens that are launching in the second half of this year. You’re welcome.
