The real identity of the US President's "perfect doppelganger" has been revealed as a Navy veteran from Texas who said his Donald Trump-like hair was "the only gold he's ever had".

A photograph of the lookalike for the US President in a supermarket emerged on Reddit last week leaving forum users wondering if it was actually Mr Trump himself.

Now Terry Humphrey, from Texas, has said people have been telling him for years that he looks like the president with his long light-coloured hair.

Reporters for KLTV managed to track down him down to his home in Morris County, east Texas.

And when he was interviewed, he said his hair is "all the gold I have in my life."

Mr Humphrey called his modest home the "Brown House" when he welcomed them in this week.

“I’m a Navy vet, and I believe in my Second Amendment.

"I’ve got a little girl who lives here with me that takes care of the security issues,” he revealed, describing his guard dog.

And when asked who he had to thank for his looks, he said: "I think it was a combination. They’re [my parents] are both beautiful people, or were."

His hair "used to be longer", he added. "Now it’s gold, but that’s all the gold I have in my life."

Mr Humphrey is married and enjoys fishing and confirmed he is a supporter of Mr Trump.

"Trump is the best president we’ve had since Kennedy," he said.
