Toronto‑based travel agencies say the change should be reflected in booking systems within weeks, simplifying cross‑border travel planning.
The country music singer was born in a rural part of Tennessee and remained living there until her death on Tuesday.
Announcing the plans, Bill Lee said Parton's life is "forever woven into the fabric of our state."
