Donald Trump has touched down in Washington ahead of his inauguration, and his first port of call was a wreath-laying ceremony honouring veterans.
On Thursday afternoon, the President-elect travelled to Arlington National Cemetery, where he and Vice President-elect Mike Pence both lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
They later attend a concert on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, featuring performances from artists including country music’s Toby Keith and the rock band Three Doors Down.
Mr Trump and Mr Pence are both expected to address their supporters at the event.
The events are a run-up for his swearing-in, which will take place on Friday.
Earlier on Thursday Mr Trump seemed to announce that Woody Johnson, the owner of the New York Jets American football team, would be appointed as ambassador to the UK.
