A cyclist walked into a GP surgery with a knife plunged into his skull and asked: “Do you have a doctor free?”

Shaun Wayne, 34, survived the attack during his commute in Strand, near Cape Town.

As two men tried to grab his bike, one of them stabbed him through the side of his skull.

Mr Wayne managed to fight them off, cycled to the surgery and walked in carrying his bike and soaked in blood.

He underwent emergency surgery on Monday and is now “stable”.
