British backpacker Jordan Jacobs 'found safe on Thailand beach'

A British backpacker who was reported missing in Thailand under mysterious circumstances has been found safe on a beach, it has been reported.

The family of Jordan Jacobs, from Lyneham, Wiltshire, appealed for help to track him down after he was last seen at at a restaurant on the island of Ko Phi Phi Don on Saturday.

Relatives said they feared for his welfare after the 21-year-old was "upset" and sounded out of character when speaking to his sister Emily.

However, on Thursday it was reported that he was found walking along a beach in the resort town of Krabi.

He has contacted his family to confirm his safety, according to Wiltshire Police.

The Foreign Office confimed it was offering support to the family after they raised the alarm following a bizarre phone conversation with the 21-year-old.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Emily said her brother accepted a free ride to Ko Phi Phi Don island from a Thai man he met near a laundrette close to the Pak Up hostel, in the Krabi district of the mainland.

Later, he borrowed a phone from another traveller and made contact with his family where he said he could "never see" them again.
