This is the bizarre moment a BBC News camera collapses in the middle of a live broadcast.

During the BBC Papers segment on Tuesday evening, presenter Ben Brown and two studio guests were left astounded by the drama that unfolded while discussing buying products at an airport.

While the programme started off smoothly, suddenly the camera drops down and the clunk of metal hitting the floor can be heard.

After a brief pause and confused glances towards the camera, Mr Brown jokes: “Er, we’ve just lost a camera but never mind, we’ll carry on regardless”.

Posting on Twitter after the mishap, Mr Brown said the glass had shattered in the camera during the incident which has seen been shared online.

Mr Brown was also commended by others on Twitter for keeping a straight face throughout the broadcast.
