The Deputy Prime Minister's wife prefers straight lines and no labels

Wark said she was “a pretty dedicated follower” of fashion and bought two pairs of the same style of shoe if she thought she would “wear them to death”. She said she had “a beautiful Prada dress I always feel great in” but lamented “the tyranny of sizes — I wear an eight in some designers and a 12 in others. The sizing makes no sense”.
Others who will donate outfits to the exhibition include Livia Firth, green campaigner and wife of actor Colin, civil rights activist Shami Chakrabarti, Kids Company founder Camila Batmanghelidjh and Serpentine Gallery director Julia Peyton-Jones.
The show, Women Fashion Power, will also include a 150-year timeline of the links between fashion and politics with exhibits such as a Seventies power suit.
Curator Donna Loveday said: “The exhibition is intended to be a celebration of successful women. What I wanted to do was look at how women use fashion in their professional working lives.”
Several participants admitted they did not pay much attention to clothes, although Ms Chakrabarti said her friendship with Dame Vivienne, a trustee of her charity Liberty, had made her more interested in fashion.
Women Fashion Power, designed by the architect Zaha Hadid, runs from October 29 to April 26 next year.
