Early May Bank Holiday Monday is here, meaning plenty of people will be enjoying an extra day off work and school.
However, that also means that a number of supermarkets across the UK will be operating with different opening hours today.
Supermarkets have revealed their holiday opening times for the 2026 May bank holiday - and The Standard has compiled a list of the confirmed opening times for all the major UK supermarkets, from Aldi to Waitrose.
Supermarkets are being urged to restore worker pay in line with the real living wage after a raft have stepped back from matching the salary benchmark in recent years amid soaring industry cost pressures. All supermarket opening times for Early May Bank Holiday Monday:
Aldi
8am - 8pm
Asda
8am - 8pm
Asda Express locations generally remain open 24 hours or until their usual late-night closing
Co-op
8am - 8pm
Convenience branches usually stay open until 10pm or 11pm
Lidl
8am - 8pm
Some stores in Greater London open until 10:00pm
M&S
9am - 6pm
M&S stores in travel hubs like stations, airports and garages usually maintain normal hours
Morrisons
7am – 8pm
Morrisons Daily stores typically stay open until 10pm or 11pm
Sainsburys
8am - 8pm
Most Sainsbury’s Local stores will stay open from 7am - 11pm
Tesco
8am - 6pm
Tesco Express stores usually operate normal hours
Waitrose
8am - 6pm (Some larger branches may vary)
Little Waitrose usually open until 10 or 11pm
