A video posted online showed Madelaine Diamond strap on a pair of skis to make her way through Soho's snowy streets
Dressed in a yellow jumper and blue jeans, she was filmed skiing along during the wintry showers on Tuesday afternoon.
She posted the video to Instagram with the caption: "Train cancellations? Not my problem... ski you later b******."
Madeline Diamond and a friend skiing in Soho Twitter/ Michael S SturrockSpeaking to the Standard she said: “My boss has an obsession with Amazon and eBay and bought these skis for a ski trip but realised they were some old 90s skis so when the snow started to settle we thought it would be funny to go out and pretend to ski and I think it made people laugh.”
In another video posted by Nicola Heath, Ms Diamond's colleague was shown skiing near Oxford Circus.
Elsewhere in the city, commuters suffered severe delays on the Tube and trains because of the poor weather.
The Met Office issued a yellow 'be prepared' weather warning across London and advised people to take extra care when travelling.
Drivers were told that there was the potential for delays on roads and some vehicles could become stranded as snow settles in some areas.
Cancellations were expected on rail and air travel.
