The presenter accused the former Suits actress of ditching him after a year and a half of friendship in which they had “got on really well”.

He has previously gushed over the Duchess of Sussex and discussed how he put her in a cab to go to her first date with Prince Harry.

But journalist Radhika Sanghani said his remarks on Tuesday's episode of GMB were “absolutely ridiculous”, adding that the media coverage towards her has changed.

Piers Morgan made the claim during his early morning TV slotITV

Mr Morgan had said his experience of knowing Meghan had "not been great" and that he "never heard from her again" after she met "someone more important."

Responding to Mr Morgan’s claims of the Duchess having changed, Ms Sanghani said: “I just think that's absolutely ridiculous.

She said: "To me it is just this really lovely love story between them.

"When you saw their wedding it was very obvious they were in love."
