A man named John Lewis said the barrage of tweets he mistakenly receives about the department store's annual Christmas advert cheered him up after Donald Trump's shock election win.
Mr Lewis, who lives in Virginia and tweets with the handle @johnlewis, is bombarded with messages about the retailer’s Christmas advert when it premieres each year.
In a departure from the department store’s emotion-laden tearjerkers of its previous festive campaigns, the upbeat ad tells the story of Buster the Boxer dog who leaps around on the family's new trampoline on Christmas Day.
The retailer hoped the feel good ad would raise a laugh among viewers – and it certainly got the thumbs up from Mr Lewis himself.

Mr Lewis later added that he was talking about the US election.
