Lampard and Bleakley's wedding plans on hold until his playing future is confirmed

Christine Bleakley has revealed her wedding plans with Frank Lampard have been placed on hold until the footballer confirms where he will end his playing career.

The 36-year-old left Chelsea in June and has been linked with a move to play for Melbourne City in Australia, but has yet to announce exactly where he will following interest from teams in the US and Russia.

Lampard and Bleakley, 35, got engaged more than three years ago.

She told hello! magazine: “The wedding plans are all good, in spite of what everyone keeps saying. We kind of know what we want but, as per usual, our lives are totally up in the air at the minute. But yes, it’s all ticking along.”

When asked where her preferred destination of Lampard’s next club would be, she added: “The honest truth is, I can’t answer that. According to the papers today, we’re moving to Russia. Every single day, another ridiculous report is thrown up and it’s something I’ve never, ever anticipated if I’m honest.

“Coming to London was a big enough deal for me. We’ve just moved into our house and all sorts. There are so many other things behind the scenes that nobody knows about. Our lives are very much dictated by what Frank wants to do football-wise so I really, really don’t know. It’s still very much up in the air. God only knows what’s going to happen now.”

Bleakley revealed Lampard did not need any cheering up after England’s early exit from the World Cup. “Frank’s done it for long enough now, he understands the game better than anybody else, so no, it’s not like that any more. He’s got a bit more perspective with age. He’s a big boy.”
