Vigilante dubbed the 'Bromley Batman' steps in to help stricken couple - while on holiday in Cornwall

The London vigilante dubbed the Bromley Batman stepped in to rescue a couple as they were allegedly attacked by three men – while he was on holiday in Cornwall.

The unnamed masked hero waded into a dispute between three men from Newcastle and a couple during a night out in Newquay.

“I was on holiday and I decided to go and patrol one night, not expecting to run into any trouble at all,” he told the Standard. “But I assumed the place that might need help would be Newquay because of its party town reputation.

“It didn't take long to come across lots of drunks and idiots fighting, but what caught my eye was a group of three men pushing people around while walking through town, so I started to watch them. That’s when they attacked this man who was with his partner – so I got into position and helped them.”

The masked hero said he could not recall the exact details of the altercation, adding events “just seemed to flow”.

The drama unfolded on Thursday at about 11pm, near the Walkabout bar, he added.

It has been reported the Good Samaritan identified himself to the grateful couple as the “Bromley Batman” – something he denies.

Earlier this year he said he preferred the name “The Shadow”, and wished to remain anonymous to protect his family.
