Tube commuters using the District and Circle lines faced long rush hour delays this morning after a signal failure.

The Circle line was worst affected by the disruption, with severe delays across the entire line until around 7.30am.

On the District line, Transport for London says there were severe delays on a swathe of the network from Earl’s Court to Barking eastbound.

The problems were triggered by a signal failure at Gloucester Road which has since been fixed.
