Goat Simulator: the funniest glitches in the world’s weirdest game

Let’s get it out there: Goat Simulator is probably the weirdest game ever made. In fact, it is pretty much exactly as weird as you would expect a game called ‘Goat Simulator’ to be.

First released on PC in April 2014, the game pitches a player as – you guessed it – a goat who enjoys head-butting unsuspecting passers-by, dragging objects around with his extendable sticky tongue, and destroying as much of the game map as possible.

Before you weep over your vintage Mario cartridges at the thought of what video games have now become, rest assured that the developers are in on the joke – the game is riddled with glitches that have been left in to add to the overall weirdness, causing the goat to fly across the screen, fall through the floor, and rack up tonnes of points in the process.

After successfully weirding out PC gamers last year, the game is arriving on Xbox One and Xbox 360 this week. Here’s a look at what you need to prepare yourself for.

1) You’ll believe a goat can fly

Don’t you hate it when you’re just walking along and suddenly shoot up in the air? This poor goat does. Extra points for its genuinely unsettling goat-scream.

2) Goat meets hang-glider

As well as managing to get their goat stuck underneath the map, this player also managed to launch it into the side of an oncoming hang-glider. Good work.

3) The goat escape

This goat has Matrix-like ambitions of breaking out of his software, hitching a ride on a passing car to drag him out of the edges of the map.

5) Like a goat out of hell

Getting your goat possessed by the devil sounds like another glitch, but it’s actually one of the aims of the game – however, when you do it, things turn even stranger than usual. “This just adds to the overall experience of realistically being a goat,” shrugs the player.

Goat Simulator is released on Xbox One and Xbox 360 on April 17
