Facebook down: Millions affected as site crashes

Millions of Facebook users have been affected after the site crashed this evening.

The social network suffered its second outage in the space of a week just after 8pm UK time.

Facebook claims to have more than one billion users, most of whom received error messages when they tried to access the site this evening.

It comes after a separate crash on September 24 left users unable to access their feeds and Facebook pages.
