Tower Hamlets election to replace Lutfur Rahman scheduled for June

The election to replace disgraced mayor of Tower Hamlets Lutfur Rahman will take place on June 11 this year.

It comes after the independent mayor was thrown out of office following a court ruling he oversaw corrupt and illegal practices when he was re-elected last year.

The ruling also found there was extensive corruption and illegality surrounding the election of Rahman’s supporters at council elections.
