David Cameron won't talk tax with Google boss Eric Schmidt Meeting: Google boss Eric Schmidt

Downing Street has said David Cameron would not use a meeting today to tackle Google boss Eric Schmidt over his firm’s tax affairs.

Executive chairman Mr Schmidt was due to attend a pre-arranged meeting of Mr Cameron’s Business Advisory Group at Number 10 this afternoon.

The session comes four days after the influential Public Accounts Committee slammed Google’s tax arrangements as “devious”.

But a Downing Street spokesman said the meeting would be used to discuss Mr Cameron’s agenda for the G8 summit. He added: “We don’t talk about individuals’ or individual companies’ tax affairs.”
