Professor Germaine Greer has gone back to her roots for her latest work, a study of the flora and fauna of the Queensland and New South Wales rainforest where she likes to unroll her swag.
The book has just been bought by Bloomsbury and is due out later this year. Best known for her feminist tract The Female Eunuch in the 1970s, Greer, who originally hails from Victoria, now displays prodigious knowledge of the wildlife around her new Cave Creek homestead. She talks lovingly of the weird marsupials, snakes, insects and birds that inhabit northern tropical climes. Perhaps Greer should be hired as an expert by I’m a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! so that she can give us her views on bush tucker, witchetty grubs, kangaroo penises and other delicacies.
