Wandsworth Bridge is closed while emergency services respond to reports of a man in distress

Wandsworth Bridge is closed due to a police incident.
The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that the closure is due to concerns for the welfare of a man.
According to local eyewitnesses, the man has been on the bridge since 1pm.
The bridge has since been blocked by police and emergency services.
Police are currently attending the scene, alongside firefighters and ambulance workers

The incident has caused congestion in the surrounding areas, including the New King’s Road in Fulham.
Traffic is being diverted through Battersea and Putney Bridges.
Buses are also being diverted due to the closure.
The affected bus routes on diversion are bus routes 28, 295, and C3.
After reports that traffic was queueing in both directions, to and from New King’s Road in Fulham, as of 6pm traffic is clearing.
