Londoners are set to bask in glorious sunshine next week as temperatures are expected to hit highs of 23C.
The capital is already expected to be hotter than Portugal this weekend, with highs of 21C predicted on Saturday.
But mercury levels are set to peak early next week, with forecasters suggesting they could reach as high as 23C on Tuesday.
Met Office spokesman Graham Madge told the Standard: "We expect to see a fairly sunny weekend with the odd bit of April showers.
"Sunday will be the wetter day of the weekend, with temperatures settling down at about 15C.
"Come Monday morning, however, we'll be seeing warm southerly winds blowing into London and the south east, heating everything up nicely.
"We expect to see highs of 20C throughout the day on Monday, followed by an even higher peak of 23C on Tuesday.

"Although it's difficult to say for sure at this stage, we imagine temperatures will remain relatively high as the week goes on."
Meanwhile the rest of the UK is expected to feel "generally warmer over the weekend with sunshine and scattered heavy showers breaking through".
Showers are expected to break up sunny spells on Monday and Tuesday, before a drier day on Wednesday.
It is expected to remain cooler in Scotland and the north east with temperatures hitting highs of around 15C.

London is expected to hit highs above those expected on Portugal's south coast over the weekend, where it is expected to be around 17C.
