Clubbers today spoke of their sadness as the Tiger Tiger venue became the latest in a string of bars to close in Croydon.
Bosses at Tiger Tiger today confirmed the club was to close after a final party on Saturday night.
The news was met with sadness among revellers who expressed their "devastation" on social media.
Josh Dale tweeted: “Worst news ever today - tiger tiger is shutting down in Croydon. Lest we forget.”
While Lauren Savill said: “Can we declare a national day of mourning for Tiger Tiger Croydon.”

Some users claimed the nightclub was a Croydon landmark.
Kae Kurd wrote: “They're closing down Tiger Tiger in Croydon. That's like knocking down Big Ben in Westminster. That's a landmark of the people there.”
And Luca Rochford added: “TigerTiger Croydon shutting down is devastating.”
Nightclub staff declined to comment on the closure when approached by the Standard.

However, Josh Currey, a senior sales rep at the club told the Croydon Advertiser: “The area managers came down and told us the decision yesterday. There was a lot of emotion. Everyone's worried about leaving their friends.
"We've known it was coming for a while. Croydon's been going down for ages. The footfall has gone down a lot."
"We're just doing our last night of trading on Saturday and then we'll do a massive clear out and close it down, which will take a little while."
Other popular nightspots to have closed in Croydon in recent years include the Black Sheep Bar and Yates's.
