As Brits applauded key workers from doorsteps and windows across the country last night, one police force raised their clapping game to the skies.
Footage shared by London’s National Police Air Service (NPAS) showed an officer clapping from the helm of a plane, as it soared across a dusky British skyline.
NPAS tweeted the clip, writing: “Showing our support for our fellow key workers last night while airborne.”
Back on hard ground, emergency services joined the nation in the weekly round of applause for the NHS and other frontline staff.

St Thomas’s Hospital, where Boris Johnson is being treated for Covid-19, was illuminated with blue flashing lights at 8pm on Thursday.
Around 15 vehicles including fire engines, police vans, and even boats spraying jets of water on the Thames gathered for the jubilant display.
It came less than an hour after news that the Prime Minister had been moved out of intensive care as he prepared to spend a fifth night at the hospital, which faces Parliament from across the Thames.

Mr Johnson’s pregnant fiancee Carrie Symonds tweeted a string of clapping emojis along with a child’s rainbow painting – a symbol of support for the NHS.
On Friday morning, the airborne police service tweeted that its crews will continue to work over the Bank Holiday, during which the public is urged to stay at home.
NPAS wrote on Twitter: “Our crews are still working 24/7 over the Easter weekend & will be doing everything they can to keep you safe.
”We know celebrations won't be the same this year and want to say thank you to everyone who continues to protect the NHS.”
