The family of Mark Duggan has won permission to challenge a ruling that he was 'lawfully killed'.

Relatives were angered when an inquest into Mr Duggan's death recorded a verdict of lawful killing and will now contest the ruling at the Court of Appeal.

They are challenging a decision by three High Court judges that an inquest jury was entitled to bring in its 8-2 majority verdict.

Mr Duggan's death sparked nationwide riots when he was shot by a police marksman in Tottenham.

Lord Justice Sales has allowed their application to launch a full appeal against the High Court ruling to go ahead.
