Jeremy Corbyn appears to have been captured by Google Maps' Street View riding his distinctive red bike through the streets of Islington.

The Labour leader was apparently picked up by tech giant's cameras as he cycled not far from his home in the Islington North constituency where he is MP.

Although Google blurs out faces, the likeness of the figure to the politician is striking - from the white beard, to the trademark red bicycle, and the familiar silver cycle helmet.

Mr Corbyn is often seen out and about on his red Raleigh bike instead of in official cars.

The MP, who is known for his love of cycling, and has faced criticism for his "scruffy" appearance and once suggested he might turn up at the House of Commons in Lycra.

During an interview with Bradley Wiggins in December, Mr Corbyn said: "I was thinking maybe I should just cycle in one day in my Lycra, go into Parliament in the chamber with my Lycra."

It is not the first time a Labour leader has been spotted on Street View - former party leader Ed Miliband was captured on Google's cameras sitting in the window of his Doncaster North constituency office.
