Google maps glitch puts Brecon Beacons in central London

Tourists hoping to potter around a popular Welsh national Park have been directed to the heart of London's West End instead following a glitch on Google Maps.

An error on the online mapping service located the Brecon Beacon's National Park 150 miles east from the mountain range south Wales to somewhere between Chelsea and Knightsbridge.

The new base was revealed in a jokey Facebook post on the park's official page. It read: "We have now moved. Londoners get an upgrade thanks to Google maps."

Since it was posted yesterday it has been shared 148 times and received more than 400 likes with many seeing the funny side.

Damian McCarthy wrote: "This is disgraceful - the beautiful Welsh Brecon Beacon National Park has been been moved to London.

"No doubt revenge for our win on Saturday night."

While Geraint Lewis added: "Wow, that must mean my parents live in Battersea and my inheritance got a lot tastier."
