A woman said she felt “overwhelming love” as she stripped to her underwear in the middle of Piccadilly Circus, blindfolded herself and invited strangers to draw on her body.

Jae West says she perfromed the stunt to get people thinking about body image, as someone who suffered from an eating disorder in her teens and early-20s.

The campaigner, a member of a group called The Liberators International, undressed and stood in the square with a notice board which asked people to "support self-acceptance" by drawing a heart on her body.

By the end of the experiment, her skin was covered in hearts.

“The feeling of the felt pen on my skin was one of the most overwhelming feelings of relief, gratitude and love that I’ve ever felt," she said.

“I just burst into tears.”
