Chelsea star Cole Palmer has revealed he went incognito at Notting Hill Carnival joining crowds of revellers making the most of the annual celebrations.

Palmer, 23, posted a picture of himself at the festivities dressed in faux dreadlocks, a rasta cap, black face mask and dark sunglasses.

The star tagged the picture with his location and included the caption: “Blendinggg.”

The Chelsea and England striker also posted a video of the carnival in west London, which was attended by approximately a million people over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Palmer’s Carnival visit was a celebration of his Caribbean roots – his grandfather, Sterry, was born in the island of St Kitts.

It came just days after the forward missed Chelsea’s 5-1 thrashing of West Ham on Friday evening after injuring himself during the warm up.

Thousands of people lined the route of the carnival’s parade in warm conditions on Monday, with temperatures reaching 26C.

Bands and floats representing the Caribbean, African and Brazilian diaspora paraded through west London for the final day of celebrations.

In a statement on Monday evening, the Metropolitan Police said there had so far been 423 arrests over the two main days, including 46 for possession of an offensive weapon.

There have been two stabbings, one in Powis Terrace and one in Oxford Gardens, but neither resulted in life-threatening injuries.
