A 25-year-old man was shot dead outside a pub in Clapham late Monday, prompting a murder investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
Emergency services rushed to Willington Road shortly before 10 p.m. following reports of gunshots. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.
Arrest made after hospital visit
Shortly after the shooting, a 22-year-old man attended a hospital with a gunshot wound. He remains in hospital, and police were awaiting an update on his condition. The man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A cordon remained in place Tuesday near The Landor Pub, at the junction of Willington Road and Landor Road. Forensic tents were visible as officers continued their enquiries.

Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, Central South Borough Commander, said the incident would cause concern locally and that an increased police presence would remain in the area. The London Ambulance Service said it was called at 9:59 p.m. and dispatched an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, paramedics in fast response cars, and a trauma team from London's Air Ambulance. First paramedics arrived within three minutes.
