Watch moment suspected burglar falls and injures himself while trying to break into Walthamstow hospital building CCTV appeal: a man apparently tried to break into Thorpe Coombe Hospital but fell in the process

This was the moment a man fell and injured himself after trying to break into a hospital building.

Police have released a video of the attempted burglary of Thorpe Coombe Hospital, Walthamstow, as they hunt the suspect.

The CCTV footage shows two men approaching the psychiatric unit on February 19 at about 2.20am.

One of the men can be seen trying to break into the building as he clambers up to a window. But he soon after loses his grip and tumbles to the ground.

He appears to be in pain and does not move for a few minutes, until the other man comes to help him back to his feet.

A spokeswoman for the Met said the suspect did not gain entry to the hospital, but did cause damage to a window and the guttering of the building.
