Two teens were rushed to hospital after a double stabbing outside a busy station in south-east London.

The two boys, both aged 17, were knifed outside Plumstead Station, in Greenwich borough, at about 6.30pm on Thursday.

Emergency services found one of them at the scene while the other was found more than three miles away in Frank's Park, Belvedere.

Police believe he may have been taken there in a vehicle.

They were rushed to hospital by paramedics, one in a critical condition.

Police said on Friday they remain in hospital in a stable condition, neither with life threatening injuries.

Two men, one aged 18 and another aged in his late teens or early 20s, were arrested near the scene of the incident, on suspicion of GBH.

They remain in custody at a south London police station.

The news came after a man was found stabbed "multiple times" in Wanstead earlier the same evening.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has come under increasing pressure to provide police with better support to tackle spiralling violent crime in the capital.

Appearing on LBC on Thursday, Mr Khan said his team had "done nothing wrong" in its attempts to combat gun and knife crime.
