Three teenagers have been charged over the murder of a student in north-west London.

Hussein Ahmed, 19, died in hospital after he was allegedly dragged from his bike and stabbed in the chest outside South Harrow Tube station on November 18.

His family, from Edgware, had maintained a bedside vigil in hospital but allowed his life-support machine to be turned off after five days.

Two 14-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy were charged with his murder on Thursday.

They were also charged with GBH wounding with intent and attempted GBH wounding with intent.

They will appear in custody at Willesden Youth Court today.

Mr Ahmed was the 12th teenager to be stabbed to death on the streets of London this year.

The teenager, who had two brothers and five sisters, was described by friends as a “lovely, enthusiastic young man with a smile permanently etched on his face”.

Two other people arrested in connection with the murder investigation, a 17-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man, will appear in court in mid-January.

A 16-year-old boy also arrested remains on bail to a date this month.
