A convicted robber has admitted bludgeoning a 61-year-old woman to death in her own home.
David McCorkell, 54, of Penge, south east London, pleaded guilty to murder during a hearing at the Old Bailey today.
Diane Dyer died from blunt force trauma to the head after she was attacked at her home in Beckenham, south-east London, on July 18 2019.
The defendant had previously been jailed in 2002 for the robbery of a female who was beaten around the head with a baseball bat.
It is understood that he was given a life sentence for the attack and was released in 2015.
Following McCorkell’s guilty plea on Monday, Judge Richard Marks QC adjourned sentencing until December 18.
