Police have confirmed that ten people have been arrested during the first hour of the Million Mask March in London – including some for refusing to take off their mask.
Increased police presence is in place around central London as Anonymous campaigners armed with fireworks and flares march from Trafalgar Square to Whitehall.
And in the first hour of the protest, which began at six, ten people has been arrested including one for having an offensive weapon in the form of a blade.
Six arrests were in connection with drugs and two were for “obstruction” because campaigners refused to remove their mask when asked by police.

The Twitter account then added: “This request can be made by an officer to prevent or control criminal offences being committed.”

The curfew of the event is at 9pm and police have warned that anyone who does not abide by the restriction will be arrested.
