A man was left fighting for his life after being stabbed in the early hours of this morning on a quiet street in west London.

Met Police officers along with paramedics were called to Boston Manor Road at the junction with Swyncombe Avenue in Brentford at 3.30am to reports of a man being stabbed.

A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital with what were initially described as life-threatening injuries.

An police spokesman confirmed he is no longer in a life-threatening condition.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.
