A man allegedly brandished an axe at police sparking dramatic scenes at a busy east London market.
Officers rushed to Ridley Road Market, at Dalston Kingsland, to reports of a group of men threatening another man with a knife just before 9am on Saturday.
The men fled into a nearby building, according to shocked witnesses.
When police arrived one of the men reportedly wielded an axe at officers in a bid to stop them from getting through the door.
Officers threatened the axeman with a Taser when he refused to drop the weapon, Hackney police said.

He is being held at an east London police station.
Hackney Police posted terrifying images of a large axe and kitchen knife seized during the incident on Twitter.
A spokesman for Hackney MPS said: “No officers or members of the public were hurt.
“The Taser was partially activated and a 'red dot challenge' given. It was not discharged.”
