A 49-year-old man has been charged with murdering missing policeman Gordon Semple.
PC Semple’s remains were found at Stefano Brizzi’s flat in Southwark on Thursday evening, a week after the policeman disappeared.
On Saturday night police charged Brizzi, of the Peabody Estate in Southwark Street, with murder.
PC Semple, who had been with the Met Police for 30 years, had been missing since leaving his home in Greenhithe, Dartford, to go to work in Westminster on April 1.

Metropolitan PoliceHe visited the Shard's Shangri-La Hotel later that day and was last seen on CCTV about two and a half hours later near London Bridge, a short distance from the property where he was found.
Brizzi is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Monday.
