The man accused of fatally poisoning four men he met on a gay dating app reportedly served pasta on Celebrity Masterchef in an appearance alongside a JLS singer.

Stephen Port, 40, was shown helping cook pasta meatballs for bus drivers with J B Gill and EastEnders actress Emma Barton.

He is accused of giving four young gay men the drug GHB and dumping their bodies at a churchyard in Barking, east London, between June 2014 and September this year.

Three of them were found in little more than two months but police initially believed two of the deaths were non-suspicious.

In an episode of the cooking show broadcast in June last year – the same month Anthony Walgate’s body was found in St Margaret’s churchyard – Mr Port is shown smiling at the camera in a blond wig and chef’s whites.

The body of Gabriel Kovari, 22, from Deptford, was found in August by a member of the public walking a dog. The same person found 21-year-old Daniel Whitworth dead in the same part of the churchyard a month later.

An inquest earlier this year established both men were friends. Mr Whitworth was said to have left a suicide note blaming himself for his friend’s death.

Finally forklift truck driver Jack Taylor, 25, was found near the Abbey ruins last month. Police linked the four men’s deaths on Wednesday last week.
