A serving Metropolitan Police detective has been accused of stealing £58,000 in a five-year crime spree.
Detective Sergeant Michael Harrington, 44, was today charged with 11 counts of theft.
He is accused of carrying them out between 2010 and 2015 while working as a financial investigator in the Met’s economic crime unit.
He was arrested and immediately suspended from duty in July last year.
He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in May.
