Detectives are investigating after a woman and two men were attacked near the Olympic Park this morning.

The woman was injured in the assault in Warton Road, Stratford, and the men had an “unknown substance” thrown in their faces, police said.

Two bent golf clubs were found at the scene, which was sealed off by police for several hours.

The woman, in her 20s, remains in hospital, with police saying her injuries are not life-threatening.

The two men, 24 and 29, did not need to go to hospital.

A witness to the aftermath tweeted: “Warton Road all police taped off, car left in middle of road and bent golf clubs on the ground and ambulance.”

Officers were called just before 2am on Saturday and no arrests were made.
