Police have launched an investigation after a Good Samaritan was punched for defending an Asian man on an Elizabeth Line train.

The suspect began racially abusing the first victim on board a service between London Liverpool Street and Seven Kings stations just after 10pm on August 2.

British Transport Police said: “A passenger intervened on behalf of the Asian man, before the other man punched the passenger in the face.”

Detectives investigating an incident of racially aggravated assault on August 2 released an image of a man who may have information which could assist them.
