David Gest 'died from a stroke'

David Gest may have died from a stroke, according to reports.

The 62-year-old was found dead in his five-star hotel room in Canary Wharf in April.

Scotland Yard originally treated the death as “unexplained”.

However, Metropolitan Police confirmed yesterday that officers will not be investigating as it is now being treated a “non-suspicious”.

Police said the music producer died of natural causes.

According to The Sun, the reality TV star, who was previously married to Liza Minnelli, died of a stroke.

The newspaper reported that his US attorney Edward Bearman said: "I've been told David died from a stroke."

Gest became a household name in 2002 after marrying Minnelli in a lavish ceremony that included Michael Jackson as best man and Elizabeth Taylor as maid of honour.

The relationship lasted just 18 months before the couple went through acrimonious divorce battle.

The final settlement took place outside court.
