It’s the happiest month of the year – Pride Month – where we celebrate all things LGBTQ.
To celebrate the start of Pride Month, travel accommodation website Airbnb has revealed the world’s best destinations for an ‘unforgettable’ Pride.
The study looked at 100 cities with the highest Pride attendance in the world and found the best cities to visit for Pride in five categories.
The best city overall for Pride: New York City
Over 27,000 guests arrive in New York City for Pride Week each year as it offers the biggest celebrations, eclectic nightlife and a busy dating scene.
The best city for Tinder dating during Pride: London
Tinder shared user data with Airbnb and found that London topped the ranking for dating – and has the highest per capita LGBTQ Tinder profiles worldwide.
The best city for nightlife during Pride: New York City
The city that never sleeps proved to have the largest number of LGBTQ clubs and bars – it was closely followed by Los Angeles, Tokyo, Berlin and Madrid.

The best city for celebrating during Pride: Sao Paulo
If you’re looking to attend the largest Pride event in the world, head to Brazil. Last’s year’s celebrations saw three million visitors attend – nearly a quarter of Sao Paulo’s population.
The best city to travel to during Pride: London
Airbnb looked at the cities that had the highest year-on-year growth in Airbnb guest arrivals during Pride. They then compared with the cities that have the highest number of LGBTQ experiences on Airbnb and highest numbers of tips for LGBTQ travellers.
The Netherlands also got an honourable mention for pioneering marriage equality. The Netherlands made same-sex marriage legal in 2001, the first country to do so.
